The United Givers Fund is an
organization in Newton that raises money for local
non-profit entities and charitable organizations. A
large percentage of the proceeds from the UGF drive
stay within the county, and many local organizations
benefit from UGF funds.
“The money is given basically
by individuals, businesses, churches, but anyone can
give,” said Chamber Director Angie Burks. “Instead
of the money going to a national office first like
United Way, it stays in the community. Our own
organizations get funded by our own donations and
that is community helping community, neighbor
helping neighbor.”
