Located
in East Central Mississippi at the crossroads of
Interstate 20, Mississippi Highway 15, and US
Highway 80 in south central Newton County, is the
City of Newton. Newton is a thriving city just minutes away
from Meridian and Choctaw - Philadelphia, and just
an hour away from the Capital City of Jackson.
No matter what time of year, Newton is full of activity.
On March 1, 2008 we are having our 5th Annual
LOOSE CABOOSE FESTIVAL.
Last year we had a great turnout of vendors and we
expect to have an even better turnout this year.
Saturday, March 1, we close the downtown streets of
Newton to vehicle traffic and allow vendors to set
up in front of local businesses. We will have music
and entertainment throughout the day.
We will also be hosting a car/truck and
motorcycle show, kid’s zone, art contest,
Memphis BBQ Contest, 5-K Run, dog show, and talent
show.
This is a free event open to the public from 9 A.M.
until 5 P.M. Vendors will be allowed to setup from 6
A.M. to 7:30 A.M. Vendor booths will be a 10x10
section.
